Empowering Our Communities: A Message from Our Executive Director

Since 2018, Manos Que Sobreviven has evolved from an emergency response group into a comprehensive, multi-layered development platform serving Los Angeles, Glendale, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Atwater Village, Northeast LA, Burbank, Pasadena, and North Hollywood. Our mission is guided by a profound respect for vulnerable humanity and a clear realization: health is just as essential as food.

We deliver public and social value through three interconnected, mathematically precise frameworks:

• Socio-Economic Mobility: Breaking cycles of systemic poverty through short-form vocational modules, ESL acquisition, and business literacy tailored for independent minority women.

• Nutritional Sovereignty: Transforming passive food charity into active self-sufficiency through urban agriculture, ancestral wellness validation, and automated logistics.

• Humanitarian Emergency Relief: Deploying our Pan y Leche Program (PLP) to protect unhoused neighbors, single mothers, and disabled residents..

Our Assembled Footprint (2025–2026):
Fully validated and co-funded by CD 13 Hugo Soto-Martínez, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, L.A. Más, and Rainbow Sandals Foundation, our coalition alongside the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Hollywood Food Coalition, and Food For Health successfully distributed 175,426 pounds of essential nutrition, safeguarding 37,296 unique individuals.

Our Future: Capital & Infrastructure Expansion (2026)

To insulate our operations from temporary leases and institutional friction, we are actively running a Capacity Building Campaign to secure an autonomous, permanent facility through corporate property donation or County service contracts. This center will feature state-of-the-art ADA-compliant infrastructure, centralized processing kitchens, and commercial transit fleets powered by Amazon Flex and QueensCare medical staff.

We invite corporate foundations, public stakeholders, and private philanthropists to join us. Your support ensures that our structural impact expands far beyond day-to-day relief, laying a solid, self-sufficient foundation for the modern family structure.
